“Love is too weak to define just what you mean to me.”

"Adore," by Prince

AN ENGAGED COMMUNITY

We are adopters, adoptees, advocates, ambassadors, and activists seeking to create an engaged community where all children grow up in loving families. Simply put, we are ordinary people trying to make a difference.

WE BELIEVE

  • Everyone desires to feel connected, loved, and adored.

  • All children deserve a forever home with a loving, supportive family.

  • Family is built on connection, commitment, and unconditional love, not biology.

  • Homes are emotionally safe spaces where love abounds.

  • Love gives, serves, and sacrifices.

OUR WHY

  • Most Americans want larger families and 1/3 of them have considered adoption.

  • More than 400,000 children were in the U.S. foster system, as of September 2020.

  • 23% of the kids in the child welfare system are Black.

  • Almost 114,000 foster children are eligible for and waiting to be adopted.

  • 60% of foster children spend 2-5 years in the system before being adopted.

  • 11% spend more than 5 years in the system before being adopted. Many Are Never Adopted.

  • 40% of children who age out of the foster care system become HOMELESS.

OUR HOPE

  •  The faith-based community, especially the Black church, encourages the placement of children in permanent homes.

  • Corporate America provides adoption assistance benefits, financial reimbursement, paid leave, and flexible work schedules. Less than a third of organizations offered paid adoption leave in 2022.

  • States enact laws and regulations to facilitate a smooth and easy transition for the successful placement of children in need of homes.

  • Lawmakers increase spending to support youth in foster care and those transitioning out of foster care.

  • Communities increase mental health and other support services to adoptive families.

  • Adoptions are respected, valued, and celebrated, like pregnancies and births.
